By Colin OhThere were some great panels this year at Comic-Con, but in particular, was James Cameron’s Avatar panel. For the first time in the United States, he has shown 24 minutes of the upcoming film. The rumors you have heard are true. The footage looks amazing. It was not mind-blowing at Comic-Con, but there is no question that it will be in IMAX 3-D. The beautiful world and creatures that Cameron have created seemed very real (almost photo-real). The CGI in this film are absolutely the best anyone has ever seen. James Cameron is one of the directors that push the boundaries of filmmaking for every film he does. He has now succeeded in breaking through the 2-D boundary into the marvelous world of 3-D. Come August 21st, IMAX theaters around the world will be showing 15 minutes of Avatar. James Cameron calls it Avatar Day.
